Activate the Simulation Guide for assistance in navigating proper simulation workflows. The Guide opens in a new window, which you can dock to the Inventor application window. Only one Guide window can be open during your Inventor session, and the window closes due to different actions.
Activate the Guide
To activate the Guide, click

Alternatively, right-click the appropriate browser node and then click the available Guide on the context menu. For example, for assistance in applying loads to your model, right-click the Loads 
browser node and select Loads Guide.
Guide selection is available for the following browser nodes:
- Constraints
- Loads
- Contacts
- Results
Note: The Results Guide is available only after results are calculated.
Use the Guide
When you activate the Guide, the initial content depends on context. For example, if you activate the Guide from the Loads node, the Guide opens to Loads guidance. The Guide information and queries display in decision-tree format reflective of potential simulation workflows. Features of note within the Guide include the following:
- Expandable sections are present in the content and you can view them by clicking Note.
- Links to the next page are shown in blue, underlined text. You navigate along the workflow decision-tree by clicking the appropriate link.
- Links to the Help and Skill Builders are also shown in blue, underlined text.
- Command names display in black, bold text. You can launch the associated command by clicking the text.
Close the Guide
Examples of actions that close the Guide include, but are not limited to the following:
- Run a simulation
- Create a simulation case
- Switch edit focus to another document
- Switch to another simulation case or environment
- Open, close, or create a document
