Edit corner in sheet metal

Corner Edit

Autodesk Inventor can create multiple corners as part of a single flange or contour flange feature. Use the Corner Seam Edit glyph to select a single corner to edit from among a group of corners. The Corner Seam Edit glyph is available during the creation of features with multiple corners or by selecting Edit Corners from the context menu of an existing feature.

    1. Decide which corner to edit. As your cursor moves over each Corner Edit glyph the glyph background highlights (the highlight color depends upon the active color scheme but is typically red).
    2. Click the Corner Edit glyph for your selected corner. The background color of the selected glyph changes to the selection color in the active color scheme and the Corner Edit dialog is displayed.
    3. Optionally, check the check box to the left of the Overlap Type flyout command. With this option checked, you can specify an overlap that differs from the overlap specified for the feature (if the feature already differs from your sheet metal style) or which differs from the default corner overlap type specified in the active sheet metal style.
    4. Optionally, check the check box to the left of the Overlap Gap value field to specify a value that differs from the value specified for the feature (if the feature already differs from your sheet metal style) or which differs from the default value specified in the active sheet metal style. You can also use the real value edit flyout on this field to: Measure a feature distance to use for this value, Show Dimensions to identify a dimension that you would use for this value, List Parameters that you would substitute for this value or (during edit of existing corners and not during the creation of new corners) reset the value to the Feature Value in the event that the value had been previously changed. You can also specify GapSize to reset this value to the GapSize parameter defined in the sheet metal style in the event that the value was previously edited. NOTE If the overlap type for the corner seam was set to No Seam this field is disabled.
    5. If your corner overlap was defined with either the Overlap or Reverse Overlap type, you can optionally specify a percentage of overlap by entering a value from 0 to 1 in the field to the right of the Overlap Gap field.
    6. Optionally, check the check box to the left of the Relief Type flyout command. With this option checked, you can specify corner relief that differs from the relief specified for the feature (if the feature already differs from your sheet metal style) or which differs from the default corner relief type specified in the active sheet metal style. The selections available for a two bend corner differs from the selections available for a three bend corner.
    7. Optionally, check the check box to the left of the Relief Size value field to specify a value that differs from the value specified for the feature (if the feature already differs from your sheet metal style) or which differs from the default value specified in the active sheet metal style. You can also use the real value edit flyout on this field to: Measure a feature distance to use for this value, Show Dimensions to identify a dimension that you would use for this value, List Parameters that you would substitute for this value or reset the value to the Feature Value in the event that the value was previously changed.
    8. Click OK to accept and apply all of the changes to the selected corner.
Note: Corners that were previously edited display a Corner Edit glyph with a dark green background and an edit pencil over the corner seam icon. These corners can be edited as required.
