Cable and Harness Library Migration

Sets whether to use an existing cable and harness library, or a newer one when migrating a Version 8 wire library.

Access:

In an active Version 8 harness subassembly in the current version, access a non-migrated Cable and Harness Library. The library is accessed each time you save the harness assembly, or modify or save the Cable and Harness library.

Migrated Library Location

Use Existing Cable and Harness Library

Specifies to use an existing migrated library file and sets the location for that file. Enter or browse to the location and select the file. The active path is displayed for subsequent operations.

Create New Cable and Harness Library

Specifies to create and use the new cable and harness library and sets the location for that cable and harness library data file. Enter or browse to the location and select the existing file, or enter a new file name to be created. The active path is displayed for subsequent operations. For the first migration of any release 8 harness assembly, the system writes the library file to either: The default Autodesk Inventor installation directory for the current release: Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows 8 operating systems: Users\Public\Public Documents\Autodesk\Inventor [version]\Design Data\Cable & Harness. The same location as the existing release 8 Wire Library file. The default file name is Cable&HarnessDefaultLibrary.iwl, and the reference to the file location in the harness settings is updated accordingly.

Select Cancel to prevent migration of the library.

Note: If the release 8 library is stored on a server, after the first migration all other users should reference that migrated library file.
