Export files dialog box

Creates and edits tasks that translate Autodesk Inventor files into non-Autodesk Inventor files.

Access:
 
  • In the Autodesk Inventor Task Scheduler main menu, click Create Task Export Files.
  • In the Autodesk Inventor Task Scheduler window, right-click, and select Create Task Export Files.

Task box

 

Project

Specifies the active project.

Add Files

Adds files selected within the active project.

Adds files selected on your local computer.

Add Folder

Adds folders selected within the active project, and includes all the Autodesk Inventor files and their dependencies.

Add Project

Not available.

 

Delete

Deletes selections from the list of added files, folders, and projects.

 

Recursive

Indicates whether to include subfolders in the selection.

 

Input Folder

Lists the folder where the input files are located. Not available for edit.

 

File Name

If a folder is added, specifies the input file name, or file extension. The default output file name is the input file name with the extension of the target file format. You can change the input file type only if you select a folder. A click in this cell reveals an arrow. Click the arrow for a list of available file types.

 

Output Folder

The default output folder is the input folder. You can change the output folder. To reveal the browse command, click this cell. If a folder is added, displays the Browse for Folder dialog box. If a file is added, displays the Save As dialog box.

 

Output File Name

If a file is added, specifies the output file name. A click in the Output File Name cell reveals the browse command to display the Save As dialog box. You can specify a new output file type or name.

If a folder is added, specifies the format for files within the output folder. A click in this cell reveals an arrow. Click the arrow for a list of available file types from which to choose.

Task Properties box

 

Task Name

Assigns a name to the task.

 

Frequency

Specifies how often to execute the task. Not available if the Immediately option is selected. Not available if the Immediately option is selected.

 

Time Out

Specifies the maximum time a task can run before it is terminated.

 

Immediately

When selected, runs a task immediately when you click OK. When you select Immediately, Frequency, Start Time, and Start Date are not available.

 

Start Time

Specifies a time to start the task. Not available if the Immediately option is selected.

 

Start Date

Specifies a date to start the task. Not available if the Immediately option is selected.

 

Log File

Specifies whether this task is logged. If the option is selected, specifies the log file folder name. Use the default name and location, or browse to a different existing folder. If a specified log file does not exist in the selected folder, it is created.

Overrides the log file specified in the Task Scheduler window in Settings Options Log File Options.

Add time stamp to log file

When selected,

  • Adds a time stamp to the log file
  • Creates a log file each time you run a task.
  • If you schedule a task for a later time, the log file name displays in the Log File edit box. The report window shows a place holder without a hyperlink, as the log file does generate until you run the task.

When not selected, the behavior of the hyperlink remains unchanged.

Options

Opens a dialog box with options for the particular supported file type you select for export.
