Assembly constraints maintain positions of components relative to one another in an assembly. Use the Assemble command to create constraints by selecting geometry first and then the constraint type. The geometry you select determines the available constraint type.
You can constrain only one component at a time with Assemble. When you finish defining constraints for a component, select OK to create the constraints and exit the command. Repeat Assemble to constrain the next component.
New constraints are not compared to existing constraints until you finish the Assemble command. If any constraint conflicts are found, the Assemble Constraint Management dialog box displays. Use this dialog box to diagnose and resolve the conflicts.
