Specify a Positional representation when opening an assembly

Because an assembly file may contain multiple Positional representations, you can specify one when you open the file or place it as a component in an assembly.

  1. Use Open to find the assembly file.
  2. In the Open File dialog box, browse to the assembly file you want to open, and then click Options.
  3. In the File Open Options dialog box, select a public or private Design View representation, if appropriate.
  4. Click the arrow on the Positional Representation box and then select one of the listed names.
  5. Click OK to close the dialog box, and then click Open.

The assembly is displayed with the selected Positional representation activated.
