DWG geometry workflow

Use DWG Geometry Workflow

When starting a design using existing DWG geometry, the workflow is as follows:

  1. Create a part.
  2. Create a drawing of the part.
  3. Put parts together into an assembly.
  4. Create an assembly drawing.

To create a part using DWG geometry, first import your DWG geometry into an Autodesk Inventor part sketch. The following tutorials each start with the same DWG file to create part features. The final tutorial creates a part within an assembly, and then shows how to place the previously created parts into position in the assembly.
