The part family file naming schema of
conduit parts
is defined in the Content Center. It can be customized to meet the design needs. They may use the Content Center file naming schema or use Tube & Pipe specific file naming convention, depending on how they are introduced into an assembly.
- If conduit parts are introduced using AutoDrop, they are always stored in the corresponding pipe run folder and the Content Center file name schema are used. Once the part family file naming schema is customized, the next instance of the library part uses the new schema.
- When conduit parts are used in tube and pipe styles for route creation, you can determine whether to set the file names for conduit parts deliberately. If conduit part file names are not important, it is recommended that you accept the default naming convention. By default, the master runs assembly disables the prompt for setting conduit part file names.
When can conduit part files be renamed?
To rename conduit part files, the Prompt for Conduit File Names option must be enabled in the Tube & Pipe Settings dialog box. When conduit parts are newly generated from the Content Center or are saved in your project workspace the first time, you are prompted to set the new file names or accept the default.
You can rename the conduit part files when:
- The Populate Route command is applied.
- You want to save the file for the first time when the Populate Route command is already applied, but you have clicked Cancel in the Conduit File Names dialog box. It can be in progress of saving the top assembly, master runs assembly, run, hose assembly, or conduit part.
- In the copy and reuse workflow, the Make Adaptive command is applied to populated
exclusive tube and pipe components
.
