In this tutorial, you:
Created a project.
Imported an existing study
Duplicated the part.
Set the parting plane location.
Created the mold.
Created the runner system.
Set the analysis parameters and ran the analysis.
Reviewed results.
Be Adventurous
The results are less than ideal. The sprue is controlling the cycle time and the volumetric shrinkage is better with a lower variation.
Try to reduce the cooling time by reducing the sprue diameter.
Save the study with a different name.
Select the sprue.
Right click and select Properties.
Change the diameter and click OK.
Run another analysis and compare results.
The fill pressure is acceptable when under 100 MPa.
Try to reduce the variation in volumetric shrinkage.
Save the study with a different name.
Go to the Advanced tab of the Process settings wizard and make a change to the packing profile.
Run another analysis and compare results.
The variation in shrinkage across the nominal wall is preferably less than 2%.
