Autodesk Vault project status

In the Project pane, beside the name of the project, is an icon that represents the status of the project within Vault.

Icon Description Action
  If no icon is displayed, the project is in Vault, but you do not have a local copy of the project on your computer. Use Refresh to retrieve a copy of the file.
Project is in the database, is available to be checked out, and matches the version in the working folder.  
Project is in the database, is available to for check-out, but the local version is newer. This can be caused if the local version is edited without first checking it out. To save these changes, check the project out with the Don't Get Local Copy option de-selected.
Project is in the database, is available to be checked out, but the local copy is out of date. Use Refresh to obtain the latest version of the project.
Project is checked out to you, but you do not have a local copy of the file on your computer. This can occur for the following reasons:
  • A working folder has not been set.
  • The project was previously checked out without getting a local copy.
  • The project is checked out to a location other than the working folder.
Use Refresh to obtain the latest version of the project.
Project is checked out to you, and the local version is the same as the latest version in the database.  
Project is checked out to you, and the local copy is newer than the latest version in the database. Check In to save work done on the project since it was last checked out.
Project is checked out to you, and the local copy is older than the latest version in the database. This can occur when an older version of the project is checked out with the intention of then checking it back into the database. This would promote the older version to the latest version on Vault. Ensure the project checked out is the required version.
Project is checked out by another user and there is no copy of the project on the local machine. Use Refresh to obtain the latest version of the project.
Project is checked out by another user, and the local copy is the same as the latest version on Vault. The other user has not checked changes back into the database.  
Project is checked out by another user, but the local copy is newer than the latest version in the database. With this status, the local version of the project cannot be saved to the database.
Project is checked out by another user and the local copy is older than the latest version in the database. Use Refresh to obtain the latest version of the project. Work done on the local machine will be lost.
Project is not in the database. Check In to save the project in the database.
There has been an unexpected result with the project.
