Autodesk Vault Add-In

Autodesk Vault is an add-inn that is shipped with many Autodesk Simulation Moldflow products. It is a database that manages version control of all the files that make up your project.

When Autodesk Vault is installed on the local machine, a Vault tab appears in the Autodesk Simulation Moldflow product ribbon.

When a project is saved to the Vault database, all studies files, results, reports and folders associated with the project are saved. You can also attach other files to the project including the following:

The database stores each version of the project and associated files, providing you with a living history of the project.

In a design team, the files and associated data are stored on a server giving all team members access to the project information. Each member of the team must have a unique login name and password. Team members check out the file they are working on. A file can only be checked out by one member at a time to prevent more than one member from editing the same file at the same time. Once a file is checked back in, other team members can refresh the local copy of the file to get the latest version.

Note:
  • Once a project has been checked in, altering the project, or any associated files within Vault client, will break the file associations. The project can not then be opened.
  • Working within Vault client while another user has the same project checked out can result in work being lost. Exercise care when refreshing or checking out the project when it becomes available.
