When sketching stairs, you can specify the railing type to be added automatically.
- Click Architecture tabCirculation panelStair drop-down (Stair by Sketch).
- Click Modify | Create Stairs Sketch tabTools panel (Railing).
- In the Railings dialog, select a rail type.
If the desired type does not display in the list, you can quit the Stairs tool, create the railing type, and then restart the Stairs tool. Also, you can create the stairs with any railing type, and change the type after you have created the desired railings. For more information, see Railings.
Note: Select None if you do not want a railing placed automatically.
- Under Position, select to place the railing on the Treads or Stringer.
- Click OK.
Note: The default railing type is the railing type specified in the
Type Selector when you are in the Railing sketch mode. You can change the default railing by selecting a new railing type in the
Type Selector. For more information, see
