Part Instance Properties

To modify an instance property of a part, you change the value of the corresponding parameter, as described under Modifying Instance Properties.

Common instance properties for parts are described below.

Constraints
Base Level By default, the level of the original element or part from which this part was created. You can select another level or a value of Non Associated.
Dimensions
Volume Read-only volume of the part.
Area Read-only area of the part.
Length Read-only length of the part if derived from a wall layer.
Width Read-only width of the part if derived from a wall layer.
Height Read-only height of the part.
Identity Data
Comments

Displays a comment that you enter or select from the drop-down list.

Once entered, a comment can be selected for other instances of elements in the same category, regardless of type or family.
Mark

Identifies or enumerates a particular instance as specified by the user.

Show Shape Handles Select this option to display shape handles that you can use to edit the geometry of the currently selected part in the drawing area.
Original Category Identifies the category of the element from which the part was created.
Original Family Identifies the family from which the part was created.
Original Type Identifies the type of the element from which the part was created.
Material By Original Specifies whether the material assigned to the part is determined by the material of the element from which it was created.
Material Specifies the material assigned to the part.
Construction Identifies the part as Core or Finish (read-only).
Phasing
Phase Created

Specifies the phase when the part was created. (Read-only if Phase Created by Original is selected.)

Phase Demolished

Specifies the phase when the part was demolished. (Read-only if Phase Demolished by Original is selected.)

Phase Created By Original

If selected, the part will use the Phase Created parameter of the original element or part from which it was created. If cleared, you can specify a Phase Created value that differs from that of the original.

Phase Demolished By Original

If selected, the part will use the Phase Demolished parameter of the original element or part from which it was created. If cleared, you can specify a Phase Demolished value that differs from that of the original.
