To modify a type property of a wall, you change the value of the corresponding parameter as described under Modifying Type Properties.
Common type properties for walls are described below.

Function | Categorizes the wall as Exterior, Interior, Retaining, Foundation, Soffit, or Core-shaft. Type Mark | A value to designate the particular wall. Generally, this is not an applicable property for walls. This value must be unique for each wall in a project. Revit warns you if the number is already used but allows you to continue using it. You can see the warning using the Review Warnings tool. See Reviewing Warning Messages. |
Fire Rating | Fire rating of the wall. |
Cost | Cost of the materials for constructing the wall. |

Heat Transfer Coefficient (U) | Used in calculating the heat transfer, typically by convection or phase change between a fluid and a solid. |
Thermal Resistance (R) | A measure of a temperature difference, by which an object, or material, resist a heat flow (heat per time unit or thermal resistance. |
Absorptance | A measure of the ability of an object to absorb radiation, equal to the ratio of the absorbed radiant flux to the incident flux. |
Roughness | A measure of the texture of a surface. |
