Use the Pipe tools to draw piping in a project to connect mechanical equipment and fixtures. Pipes can be drawn horizontally and vertically.
The first time you draw pipes in a project, you need to specify the routing preferences for the type of pipe being placed. If the routing preferences have not already been specified, go to Specifying Routing Preferences for Pipe.
You can draw horizontal, vertical, and sloped pipes using the Pipe commands on the Systems tabPlumbing & Piping panel, or by using the Pipe options from the context menu when right-clicking the connector on pipe ends, pipe fittings, mechanical equipment, and pipe accessories.
Draw placeholder pipe in the early stages of your design to indicate the approximate location of a pipe run, or to show a layout that has not been fully sized. Placeholder pipe shows as single-line geometry without fittings. Using placeholder pipes can allow for a well-connected system while the design is still unknown, that can be refined at a later stage of the design. You can convert placeholder pipes to pipes with fittings.
