Use this option to define a new type of insulating material for a protected element, and add it to the database of insulating materials. Access the option by clicking the New material button in the Member definition - fire resistance parameters dialog for Eurocode 3 (2005).
To define a new insulating material:
- Enter a group name in the Group of materials field
- Enter a material name in the Name of material field
- Determine values of the parameters: Unit mass, Specific heat, Thermal conductivity.
After parameters are defined, an insulating material is added to the database by clicking the Add to database button.
After pressing the Delete from database button, the current insulating material is removed from the database of available insulating materials.
