Exercise 12

Previous: Chapter 18 | Next: Chapter 19

This exercise teaches how to use the Wall dialog to measure hydrodynamic forces and thermal values on a surface or group of surfaces.

1. Click Wall Calculator from the Results tab:

2. Select Shaded from the Quick Access toolbar:

3. To choose an interior surface, we will need to hide exterior surfaces that are in the way: Click View (tab) > Appearance (panel) > Surface Blanking to cause surfaces to be hidden instead of volumes.

4. Hide the side surfaces of the cabin, and select the center section of the rear seat:

5. In the Wall Results dialog, check Pressure and Temperature. Click Calculate.

6. View the calculated values in the Output tab.

Note: This is a very useful way to determine temperatures and forces on one or more surfaces.
