Simulation CFD 2014 contains a new, simplified set of controls for accessing Help and documentation content. The new ribbon, Start & Learn, contains two new commands called Start Here and Learning Map. Click Start Here to open an all new section in the Help that helps the new user learn the basics of Simulation CFD as quickly as possible. Click Learning Map to open a graphical view of the Simulation CFD help resources targeted specifically for the new user.
In the previous version of Simulation CFD, you could click the Get Started tab to access help information and documentation. Simulation CFD 2014 contains a redesigned version of the tab that is called Start & Learn. The Start & Learn tab is consistent across the other Simulation products, and makes it easier for you to find these resources when you need them.
Click Start Here to open the Quick Start section of the Simulation CFD Help. This new collection of videos, articles, and tutorials introduces you to the basics of Simulation CFD in three easy steps:
Step 1: Watch the five Quick Start Videos.
Each video introduces you to a specific aspect of Simulation CFD. The videos are all short; most are about a minute long. They all provide essential information you need to get started quickly:
Step 2: Do a Quick Start Tutorial.
There are three tutorials; each focuses on a different application. If generally isn't necessary to complete all three. Instead, you should select the one that most interests you or is the most similar to the types of simulations you plan on running:
Step 3: Apply what you've learned.
Now that you have explored the basics, it's time to start creating your own simulations. The skills you learned in these videos and tutorials will help you with your own flow and heat transfer simulations.
As you explore more of Simulation CFD functionality, remember to consult the Learning and Usage guides of the Simulation CFD Help for additional information. Additionally, feel free to consult the Quick Start Keep Learning topic and video for a list of additional resources.

The Simulation CFD 2014 learning map graphically organizes the information needed to learn the essentials of Simulation CFD. It does not contain all of the Simulation CFD help resources, but rather focuses on the early stages of your learning experience with the tool.
Like a geographical map, learning maps show you the path you should take to learn the product. Each node is a "destination," and the "roads" are the connections between them. As you follow the roads from one destination to another, you acquire the tools you need to learn Simulation CFD as quickly as possible.
When you click on a node, a collection of one or more articles, videos, or tutorials opens to help you learn about the selected topic. The higher-level nodes are arranged according to the typical user-process within the product, but you can follow any path you want. As you work through the nodes, you can mark them as "read" so you know what you have covered and what remains.
To access the Learning Map, click Start & Learn (tab) > Learn (panel) > Learning Map. You can click here to open the Learning Map directly. Note that the Simulation CFD learning map is hosted on the Autodesk Servers, so you need Internet access to view it.
