- The file Radial Comb.ach is provided in your tutorial models folder. The assembly is 120 microns in diameter and has already been meshed.
- Materials:
- The comb parts are made of polysilicon with a dielectric constant of 10,000.
- The air has a dielectric constant of 1.
- A beam part at the center of the motor will provide a support for the rotating comb (Rotor) in a subsequent tutorial (Radial Comb Motor Static Stress Analysis). This part must be deactivated for now because there are no supported line elements in an electrostatic analysis.
- The ring-shaped back surface of the stationary comb (Stator) will be fully fixed.
- A voltage difference of 15 Volts will be applied to the radial comb motor, 0V at the hole in the rotor hub and 15V at the ring-shaped back surface of the stator.
- Calculate the resultant Coulomb forces so that they can be applied in the subsequent static stress analysis.
