Log in and out of Vault from SolidWorks

To work with a Vault in SolidWorks, you must log into the Autodesk Data Management Server to which you have access.

Use the unique user name and password assigned to you by the server administrator. Your log in settings can be saved so that you are automatically logged in to the Vault the next time you start SolidWorks.

Log in to Vault from SolidWorks

1. From SolidWorks, open the sample drawing named mobile gantry.slddrw located in the workspace folder.
2. Click the header of the SolidWorks Feature browser, and then select Vault.

   The Vault browser opens. Each component in the browser shows two icons: the standard SolidWorks document icon and the Vault status icon. An exclamation mark icon indicates that you are not currently logged into the Vault in SolidWorks.

3. Select Log In from the Autodesk Vault ribbon.
4. Enter the appropriate information in the Log In dialog box.
   • User name: Your designated Vault user name.
   • Password: Your unique password for accessing the Autodesk Data Management Server.
   • Server: The name of the computer where the Autodesk Data Management Server is installed. This is the computer name without any other characters such as \\ in front or behind it. You can also use the IP address.
   • Database: The name of the Vault. The default is "Vault".

Log out of Vault from SolidWorks

• Click Log Out on the Autodesk Vault Ribbon.
