Add SolidWorks Files to the Vault (Check-In)

Use the check-in feature to add files to the vault for the first time and to save subsequent changes to the files.

Before adding SolidWorks files to the Vault, open a SolidWorks model and log into the Vault using the Vault add-in for SolidWorks.

  1. From the SolidWorks browser bar, select Vault. The Vault browser is displayed.
  2. Navigate to the file you want to check in.
  3. Right-click the selection and select Check In.

    The Check In dialog box opens. Only the files that can be checked in to the Vault are listed.

  4. Optional: Select Keep Files Checked Out to have the local files remain available for editing as soon as they are added to the Vault.
  5. Optional: Click Settings, then specify whether you want to add children of the selected files, and whether or not DWF files are automatically created and attached to the files.
  6. Optional: Enter a comment describing the files being added to the Vault.

When the SolidWorks files are added to the Vault, all the relationships are recorded as well. The status of each file is indicated by the icon next to the file name in the Vault browser.
