Optimize DWF Publishing in SolidWorks

Change the default settings in PublishDWFOptions.xml to change the quality of DWF files you create.

PublishDWFOptions.xml is located in the installation folder of the SolidWorks add-in; for example, C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Data Management Applications\SolidWorks AddIn 2015\PublishDWFOptions.xml.

Improve the Output Quality from 2D Drawing Files

• Increase the value of DWF2DDPI. A higher value produces a better resolution (the default is 300).

Improve the Output Quality from 3D Parts and Assembly Files

• Change the value of SurfacePlaneTolerance and SurfacePlaneAngleTolerance. Larger values produce smaller DWF files. More accurate values produce larger DWF files.
