A Few Necessary Skills: Navigation and Part Selection

Let's start with some essential techniques…

There are three basic ways to navigate (move) the model - rotate, zoom, and pan.

1. To rotate the model, hold the middle mouse button, and move the mouse:

2. To zoom the model, press Shift and the middle mouse button, and move the mouse:

3. To pan (move) the model, press Ctrl and the middle mouse button, and move the mouse:

4. When you select an item, any items that are already selected will be unselected. To select multiple items, hold Ctrl while left-clicking on them. When you have to select multiple items, it is good practice to select one item, and then hold Ctrl while you select the remaining items. This ensure that you first clear the selection list (to avoid including any incorrect items), and that you correctly select all the desired items.

5. Before continuing to the next step, click the Home () icon that appears above the ViewCube when the cursor is nearby. This action restores the default isometric view of the model.
