The model was constructed in Autodesk® Inventor Fusion. In this step, we open it in Autodesk® Simulation Mechanical.
1. Start Simulation Mechanical. On the Open dialog, click Open from the left column, and navigate to the folder containing the spring clip assembly. (Your folder may be different from the one shown below.)
2. From the Files of type menu, select Autodesk Inventor Fusion Files (*.dwg). Select Clip-Quarter-Simple.dwg, and click Open.
Fusion opens, and automatically launches into Simulation Mechanical. You do not need to interact with the model in Fusion.
3. On the Choose Analysis Type dialog, click the arrow, and select Nonlinear and MES with Nonlinear Material Models. Click OK.
The model opens in Autodesk® Simulation Mechanical, and you should see the assembly:
