Using this option, you can define a beam or a ground beam in both 3D and 2D views of a structure model. Beams are inserted in horizontal plans of an active story (in the top view).
To begin defining the beam / ground beam, open the Beam Definition dialog from:
- Menu: Formwork Drawings > Define > Beam [Ground beam]
- Ribbon: ASD - Model > Elements > Beam [Ground beam]
- Toolbar: Define > (Beam)
or (Ground beam)
- Command line: RBCX_DEF_BEAM (RBCX_DEF_GROUND_BEAM).
Note: When you copy a story, ground beams are not copied to higher stories.
Use the tabs on the Beam: Definition dialog to define parameters:
For Priority enter a value that defines the priority of interpenetration (cutting to fit) of structure elements that overlap with each other.
Use the icons on the right to select a mode of graphic definition for the beam:
- Points
- specify the beginning and end points of a rectilinear beam in a plan of a building story
- Select
- use this to convert selected arcs and open polylines to beams
- Arc
- specify 3 successive points of an arc belonging to the beam in a plan of a building story (see also Definition of parameters of arc elements - Job Preferences > Options)
- Inherit properties
- use this to inherit parameters from a previously defined beam.
