To apply styles to individual features

You can apply styles to selected features or individual surfaces on a feature (for example, one side of a building).

To apply a style to selected features

1. Select the features to style.

   To select multiple features, hold down the Ctrl key while you click the items.

   Note: If your selection set includes features of different types, like a combination of buildings, roads and trees, only the features appropriate for the style you choose are stylized. For example, if you drag a facade style onto a selected building, any roads or trees in the selection set will remain unchanged.
2. Click .
3. Click the appropriate tab on the left side of the Style Palette.

   For example, to style buildings, click the Facade tab.

4. Select a style category from the drop-down list at the top of the palette.

   For example, select Concrete & Glass Facade Styles.

5. Click and drag a style to the selected buildings in your model.

To apply a style to an individual surface

1. Set Display Detail to at least a medium setting.
   • Click .
   • Click the General tab.
   • Move the Display Detail slider to the centre or higher.
2. With nothing selected, open the Style Palette and click the appropriate tab.

   For example, for a building surface, click the Facade tab.

3. Select a style category from the drop-down list at the top of the palette.

   For example, select Concrete & Glass Facade Styles.

4. Click and drag a style to a building surface.

   The surface of the building turns green to indicate that it will receive the new style.

   Tip: If you drag the style on to the roof, the entire building turns green and will receive the style as if you had selected the building.

To return to the original style

1. Select the desired feature(s).
2. Click to display the Properties Palette.
3. In the Stylisation section, select the Manual Style entry.
4. Press the Delete key to clear the field.
5. Click Update, if Auto Update is not active.
6. Press the Esc key to clear the selection.

Additional tips

Styles that use 3D models are called instanced styles. You can import 3D models into style catalog through the Style Palette.

If you assign instanced styles to an imported feature, you can change the spacing and variance of the 3D models for those features. You can not adjust sketched features this way. However, if you sketch a tree area and substitute 3D models for the tree objects, you can adjust their spacing with a Density slider.
