Create a ShaderFX Shader

To create a ShaderFX shader:

  1. Apply a DirectX Shader material to an object.
  2. On the DirectX Shader rollout, turn on Use ShaderFX.
  3. Note: While Use ShaderFX is on, the Parameters rollout in the Material Editor shows controls for the ShaderFX shader tree. While it is off, the rollout shows controls for whichever other DirectX shader is active.

To open ShaderFX to edit your node graph

  1. On the Material Editor DirectX Shader material DirectX Shader rollout, click Open ShaderFX.

Two nodes are created automatically: TraditionalGameSurfaceShader and Material.
