Gantry Parameters Rollout

Provides controls for gantry objects.

In general, when you use the Object Placement Style Editor to place a series of parametric objects in a single SOS element, the objects are linked as instances. This means that changing any of the following parameters affects all objects in the set. To unlink such instances, please refer to the topic Parameter Instancing.

Gantry Material Channel
By default, Civil View parametric gantries use the CivilViewObjects material. This list allows you to select which material channel within this material should be used to represent the surface of the main frame of the gantry object (excluding signs, signals, foundations, and so on).

Gantry Style group

Chooses the style of the gantry:

  • NL Has A-shaped supports and a lattice overhead.

If you turn on Restrict To Single Post, the overhead geometry changes to an "Uithouder"-style gantry, with a rectangular shape

  • NZ Has a single anchored cylindrical tube.
  • SA Has a single anchored rectangular tube.
Restrict to single post?
When on, the gantry is supported by a single post, and the overhead portion is cantilevered over the roadway.

Basic Gantry Dimensions group

Length
Sets the length of the gantry.
Height
Sets the height of the gantry.
Crossfall
Sets the relative vertical position of each foot of the gantry.

You can use this setting to make both legs of the gantry rest on the ground when the gantry is placed on a sloping surface.

Additional Dimensions group

Available only for the NZ and SA gantry styles.

Bend Radius

Sets the radius between the vertical and horizontal portions of the gantry frame.

Tube Dia[meter]
Sets diameter of the tube.

Signal Parameters group

Available only for NL-style gantries.

On
When on, adds signals to the gantry.
Flip
When on, moves the signal to the other side of the gantry.
Signal Count
Sets the number of standard traffic signals on the gantry.
Signal Spacing
Sets the horizontal offset between adjacent traffic signals (measured from center to center).
Signal Offset
Sets the offset of the first traffic signal from the side of the gantry.
Other Signal Definitions
Click to assign a sign face definition from the standard Civil View Sign object libraries. The sign face is applied to the front face of all signals.

Civil View ignores the size of the size face from library definition. The sign face image is draped across the full width and height of all displayed standard signal faces.

"X" button
Click to remove the current sign face from all signals.

Parameter Instancing group

Allows the parameters of a collection of objects of the same basic type to be shared or instanced.

See Parameter Instancing for further details.
