Selecting Objects

You can select objects in the scene in either of two ways:

When you select an object, its model is highlighted in the 3D view, its name is highlighted in the Browser pane, and the Object Properties tab of the Properties pane is automatically updated to display the properties of the selected object.

If you select a light source, the 3D view also displays manipulators that you can use to move, rotate or scale the light. See also Working with Light Sources.

Selecting multiple objects

You can select multiple objects in the scene at the same time by holding the Ctrl key while selecting them. When multiple objects are selected, the Object Properties tab of the Properties pane will show only settings that are common to all selected objects.

Therefore, if you select multiple light sources, you will be able to modify the color, intensity, and light stats of all the lights at the same time. If you select multiple shape instances, you will be able to set all of their lightmap types at the same time. However, if you select a light source and a shape instance, you will not be able to modify any properties, since they do not have any settings in common.
