Labour Rates are entered and used to calculate the total Installation cost of the project. The setup can be accessed from the Costing section of the Database under the Labour Rates sub menu.
The User can enter a standard hourly rate for each of the skills generated in the Installation Rate tables or they can collectively group installation, based on a Gang Rate calculation.
The default installation tends to use the "Skilled" Labour Rate against all allocated Fabrication and Installation tables. This allows for the user to specify an Hourly charge against the Fabrication and Installation tables assigned to the items being taken off.
Gang Rates are used to assign multiple workers to a group or gang of people. The system calculates the rates of each person to generate an average hourly working rate for the Installation time to be multiplied against on the particular project. When the Gang Rate is created and is assigned to the Labour Rate as shown in the example image above "Company Standard". The Skilled time from the job will now use the Gang Rate calculation in place of the Value £ field. When using Gang Rates, the Estimate Summary screen when first loaded for a quotation will prompt for allocation and population of the Gang Rate fields.
The user is able to add multiple workers with varying rates for inclusion into the calculation. Workers can be named according to their trade as shown in the example above.
Name: Name of the Worker (normally trade).
#Men: Number of men for that trade wanting to be used on the job.
Basic Rate: Hourly pay for each individual worker.
Overtime: Additional rate to be charged when the worker works over the basic daily hours. (Set in the Worker Weekly Hours section).
Productivity: Factor of how much the worker is the be calculated against. (For example, 0.5 would imply the workers total working weekly hours are halved due to being less productive on the project, only half of the workers time is to be charged against the total installation of the project.
Daily Travel: For each day the worker is assigned to the project, there is a fixed cost per day to be added to the total Gang rate cost for Travel expenses.
Daily Lodge: For each day the worker is assigned to the project, there is a fixed cost per day to be added to the total Gang rate cost for Accommodation requirements.
