To download a model for the first time

After a model is published to the cloud, each user in the group can download a copy. After the first download of the complete model, a user then syncs changes to the local model to the cloud-based model, and receives changes from the latest, synchronized copy.

• You can download any models available to your design group. See About Roles in User Design Groups to learn which basic tasks each role allows.
• When the download is complete, InfraWorks 360 opens the downloaded model.
• Downloading a model for the first time can take a long time.

To download a model for the first time

1. Sign-in to InfraWorks 360, if not signed-in.

Models you can download display in InfraWorks Home (unless you change the My Models filter to display models by specific groups. Manage online Models also lists models available to be downloaded by group. If you do not see the model you want, check that you are displaying the correct group.

2. Click the model's tile to open the Download As dialog box.

   Location specifies the default Autodesk InfraWorks Models folder on your computer. If a model has the same name as the one you are downloading, specify a different location.

3. Click Download.

To download a model from Manage Online Models, select the correct Group and model, click Download, follow steps 2 and 3 above.

To continue if the download process does not complete

1. Exit InfraWorks 360.
2. Manually delete the modelname.files folder from the local folder into which the model was downloaded.
3. Download the model again.

Advanced Tips

If the download process is interrupted (for example, due to a network failure or loss of connection to the service) you will see an error message. A download can also fail if you try to download to a folder that already contains a model with the same name.

You may see a tile for a model that is still in the process of being published. If you try to download or delete a model before its publication completes, an error message indicates the model is locked. A model can also be locked during a long download or sync operation. Model locking does not block a group member from synchronizing non-raster-based changes.

If you used a previous (subscription) release of InfraWorks, be aware of the following:

• Once you download a model or open it in this version of InfraWorks 360, you cannot open it in a previous version. Make a copy first.
• If you download a model from a previous version of InfraWorks and upgrade it to this version, it will be disconnected from its online version. Delete the old online model and publish the new one.
