You can import point data and add it to the current model as Points of Interest. Configure the imported point data to specify desired settings such as a proximity distance for the POI tooltip to appear.
- Follow the general import instructions to import point data.
- In the Data Source Configuration dialog box, set the Type to Points of Interest.
- To include name and description as variables in the tooltips for this data source, map those properties to fields in the data source.
Note: You can map other properties on the Table tab.
- If your data has a property that represents the type or appearance of the point of interest, map that to Rule Style. You can define the styles for each point of interest type later using style rules.
- Click the Tooltip tab to define the tooltip.
For information about how to edit and format tooltip text, see Create Tooltips. For a list of supported HTML formatting tags, see the QT Developer Network site.
- On the Table tab, specify how close the viewer needs to be to the point of interest to see the tooltip.
Set the Unit Of Measure at the top of the Properties panel and then enter a value for PROXIMITY_DISTANCE.
If you leave PROXIMITY_DISTANCE blank, the tooltip appears only when the viewer hovers over it.
- Click Close & Refresh to see your changes.
