Create flange along edge in sheet metal

Add a sheet metal face and a bend to an existing sheet metal face.

  1. On the ribbon, click Sheet Metal tab Create panel Flange .
  2. The Edge Select Mode is active. Select 1 or more edges to receive flanges.

The flange previews along the edge you select using default parameters.

  3. Set a Distance for the height of the flange, or select To and select geometry to define the height.

To change the side of the sheet metal face that the flange is created on, click Flip Direction.

  4. Specify an Angle for the flange (if it is other than the default of 90 degrees).
  5. Use the default Bend Radius, or enter a value.
  6. If not the intersection of the two outer faces, specify the datum from which to measure the height.
  7. If you do not want the outside face of the bend to align to the selected edge, specify the bend position relative to the selected edge.
  8. If necessary, modify any Unfold, Bend, or Corner settings that differ from the options defined by Sheet Metal Style. The options are on the corresponding dialog box tabs.
  9. Click OK, or to add more flanges, click Apply.
  10. Note: If necessary, expand Distance, Angle, or Bend Radius to use Measure, Show Dimensions, or List Paramaters to set the appropriate value.

Override default sheet metal style settings

If the default bend, corner or fold settings are not appropriate, override the values for an individual flange feature using the Unfold Options, Bend, or Corner tab as required.
