Keyway Groove with one rounded end dialog box

Use the dialog box to enter parameters for round keyway feature.

Note: Type of the keyway groove is set automatically according to the key type.

Access

Ribbon: Design tab Power Transmission panel Shaft. On the Design tab, select Cylinder in the tree control. In the First edge features drop-down menu, select Keyway Groove with one rounded end

Dimensions

Enables keyway groove with one rounded end dimensions editing.

Name

Displays the name of the parameter. Name of the dimension is used in the Calculation tab and in the Results pane. Column is not editable.

Size

Click the Size field to insert a value.

Click Measure from the context menu to measure dimension in the Autodesk Inventor window.

Click List Parameters to display list with parameters. Click to select the parameter and insert the value to the Size edit field.

Click Values from the context menu to see the list of recommended dimensions.

Description

Displays the description of the parameter. Name of the dimension is used in the Calculation tab and in the Results pane. Column is not editable.

Position

Use the drop-down menu to select key from the Content Center.

Note: To select a key from Content Center you must be connected to Content Center server. Also, you cannot select component from Content Center if the Custom box is checked.

Based on your selection of a key from Content Center, the keyway data is read by Shaft Component Generator and data is used for keyway groove values. Key is not inserted with the shaft.

Type of the keyway groove is set automatically according to the key type.

Note: You cannot edit values that are grayed out. They are calculated automatically.
