Extract iFeature dialog box

Extracts a sketched feature or a sketch from a model for future use.

Access
Ribbon: Manage tab Author panel Extract iFeature
Selected Features
Lists the features and sketches selected for the iFeature. You can remove geometrically dependent features that are listed by default, and rename geometric elements in the iFeature.

The first sketched feature listed is the base feature of the iFeature. The sketch in the base feature is used to position the iFeature when it is placed.

Add All parameters
Restores parameters of the highlighted feature to the Size Parameters table.
Remove all parameters
Removes parameters for the highlighted feature from the Size Parameters table.
Size Parameters
Lists iFeature parameters selected for interface. You can select parameters in the expanded feature tree or from the graphics window.
Name
Give the parameter a descriptive name. Choose a name that is useful when reusing the iFeature, such as the parameter function. The name appears in the browser when you place the iFeature.
Value
The default is the current parameter value. The value in Limit restricts the new value.
Limit
Restricts entries in the Value edit box. Click arrow to list options.
  • None Places no restrictions on Value.
  • Range In the Specify Range dialog box, title bar, displays the parameter Name. Specifies minimum and maximum values, including less than, equal to, and infinity symbols. You can enter a default value. In the Minimum field, negative values allow the placed iFeature to change the depth direction or position of a sketch curve relative to an edge.
  • List Displays values that you paste from the Clipboard or enter. To enter, click Value; to add another value, click below the last row. If values are pasted from a spreadsheet, they are placed on separate lines. When you reopen the list, values are sorted..

Position Geometry
Specifies the geometry in the iFeature that is used to position it on a part.
Name
Describes the position geometry, but the name does not change in the feature tree. The default is its name from the Selected Feature tree.
Prompt
