Combine bodies in a join, cut, or intersect operation.
To begin, create a multibody part and position the bodies you want to combine in the correct location.
Note: The Combine command is available in multibody part files only.
- On the ribbon, click 3D Model tab Modify panel Combine .
- Click the Base selection arrow and in the graphics window, choose the solid body to act upon.
- In the Toolbody selection drop-down list, select the solid bodies to act upon the base. You can select multiple toolbodies. The number of toolbodies selected displays in parentheses next to the arrow. If Keep Toolbody is not selected, the toolbody is consumed and is not available for further operations. If you select Keep Toolbody, the visibility of the toolbody is turned off after the operation. However, you can use the toolbody again.
- Select one of the following:
- Join Adds the volumes together.
- Cut Removes the volume of the toolbodies from the base.
- Intersect Creates a solid that consists of the shared volume of the toolbodies and the base.
- Click OK.
