To move through cells in the Parameters table, click the Tab key.
Defines the following types of parameters. Some of the options differ among the different types:
- Column Header context menu
- Provides options to sort values in columns, arrange column size, and customize columns.
- Parameter Name
- Names the parameter. Reflects a new name in all dependent parameters only after you update the model.
User parameters Multiple exported parameters with the same name are incremented to create a unique name for each.
- Unit/Type
- All parameters For a numeric parameter, displays the units of measurement for the parameter.
Model and User parameters For a text or true/false parameter, displays the data type of the parameter.
User parameters Click the box to open the Unit Type dialog box. Click in the tree to select the units, or enter the units in Unit Specification. Click OK.
- Equation
- The equation that generates the value of the parameter. Any discrete value is rounded to match the precision setting for the model. You can change the equation.
- Nominal Value - Model and Linked parameters only
- The value of the equation (displayed in full precision).
- Tolerance
- Displays the current evaluated size for the parameter. Click a cell to select Upper, Nominal, or Lower.
- Model Value
- Shows actual calculated size of the parameter.
- Export Parameter
- Specifies whether to add the parameter to the custom properties for the model. You can add custom properties to parts lists and bills of materials. After adding the parameter, other documents can link to or derive the parameter.
- Key
- Specifies whether the parameter is a Key.
- Comment

To alter which parameters are linked using the Link Parameters dialog box, right-click the parameter folder title of an already-linked component, and click Edit Folder.
- Reset Tolerance
- Click Upper, Median, Nominal, or Lower to reset the value in the Tolerance column. Resets all parameters at once. Not available for drawing documents.
