Heating control by time control

This option enables the user to set the stages as fixed times during the cycle. Eventually, the solution should converge to identical cycles.

To access this dialog, select Time controlled from the Heating section of the Rapid Heating and Cooling inlet dialog, and click Specify.

Property Description
Heat control The mold is heated using either hot water or saturated steam. Select how you would like to control the temperature of the steam, from the drop-down list. This decision will be influenced by the the nature of your actual controller.
  • Saturated steam by pressure - saturated steam tables are used to convert the specified pressure into a corresponding temperature.
  • Saturated steam by temperature - saturated steam, at the specified temperature, is pumped through the channels.
  • Heated water - click Specify to determine how you want to control the water flow (pressure, temperature or Reynold's number) and to enter an inlet water temperature.
Time control Heating of the mold begins during the mold open stage, after the part has been ejected. This section enables you to set the
  • Start delay after mold opening - determine how long to wait, after the mold has opened to eject the part, before heating of the mold should begin again,
  • Duration - specify how long to heat the mold before it is closed, ready for injection.
