There are several diagnostic tools related to potential beam element problems.
- Beam element count diagnostic
- displays a plot of the number of beam elements per curve used to model a cooling channel or runner system. A low beam element count may be representative of insufficient mesh density.
- Beam L/D ratio diagnostic
- displays a plot of the number of the length/diameter ratio of all beam elements in the model. If the ratio is too high, or too low, this may result in solver convergence warnings.
- Trapped beam diagnostic
- locates overlapping beam elements.
