Manually classifying the mesh to improve mesh matching

  1. Select one or more elements that have been classified incorrectly, for example:
    • Elements displayed as Matched but which should be Edge
    • Elements displayed as Unmatched that should be Edge
    • Elements displayed as Matched that should not be matched
  2. Right-click in the model pane and select Properties.
  3. Select Specified in the Dual Domain type drop-down, select the required option in the Mesh type drop-down and then click OK. The Mesh Match diagnostic plot updates automatically.
  4. Repeat the above steps for other elements that you want to classify manually.
Note: The above method cannot be used to reclassify an Unmatched element as Matched. If there are many Unmatched elements in the part that are not Edge elements, you should consider remeshing the part with a smaller edge length or, in the case of a highly curved part, using the Advancing Front surface mesher in conjunction with the chord height option.
