To manage a link in the project, select it in the Manage Links dialog, and use an appropriate tool.
You can select multiple links to modify by pressing Ctrl and clicking on the number of the link in the dialog. The following tools are available.
- Save Positions. Saves positions for the linked instance. See Defining Named Positions.
- Save Markups. Saves changes to imported DWF markups. For more information on imported markups, see Link a DWF Markkup File.
- Reload From. Changes the path of the link if the linked file has been moved. See Re-establish Unresolved References.
- Reload. Loads the latest version of the linked file. You can also close the project and reopen it, and the linked file is reloaded.
- Unload. Removes the display of the linked file in the project but continues the link.
- Import. Embeds the file into the project. This option is not available for Revit models.
- Add. Links a Revit model, IFC file, or CAD file to the project, and places an instance in the current view.
- Located In. Lists the sheet that contains the DWF markup import symbol.
- Preserve graphic overrides. Maintains any graphic overrides on DWG, DXF, and DGN links, when the links are reloaded.
- Reference Type drop-down. Specifies whether this nested linked model is shown (Attachment) or hidden (Overlay) when the host model is linked into another model. See Show or Hide Nested Models.
- Path Type drop-down. Specifies whether a model’s file path is Relative or Absolute. The default is Relative.
Note: When the location of the linked model is a
Revit server, the
Revit server link path type replaces the absolute or relative path.
- Manage Worksets. Opens the Manage Worksets for Link <filename> dialog, where you can open and close worksets in a linked model. See Open Linked Worksets in the Host Model.
