Optimized View Navigation

You can enable optimized view navigation on the Graphics tab of the Options dialog.

When you enable this option, Revit temporarily suspends certain features that affect the display of the model. This option improves performance when you are navigating a 2D view or a 3D view in ways that manipulate the camera, including the following:

The following table lists the graphic effects that are temporarily suspended for each visual style when the Optimized View Navigation option is enabled and the camera is being manipulated. (When the camera is not being manipulated, the view displays the graphic effects as usual.)

Hidden Line style Shaded style Consistent Colors style Realistic style

Fill patterns
Shadows
Ambient shadows
Mechanical hidden lines
Structural hidden lines
Note: In wireframe views, fill patterns are suspended when the camera is being manipulated.
