A suite workflow is a mechanism for exporting a building model from Revit to a target application for detailed rendering or animation. You can use workflows to prepare for design reviews and to create vivid presentations.
A suite workflow applies predefined settings in 3ds Max Design or Showcase to design data from Revit. Workflow settings automatically transform the building model for presentation in 3ds Max Design or Showcase. Workflows can be optimized for specific purposes, such as high-quality rendering or lighting analysis.
For example, the 3ds Max Design Exterior Rendering workflow renders the external surfaces of a building design, including light and shadow. The Showcase Interactive Walkthrough workflow sends the building model data to Showcase and creates a walk zone for an interactive walkthrough.
To improve performance and results for suite workflows, apply the best practices described in Before Exporting a 3D View to 3ds Max.
The workflows supplied with a suite can vary according to the suite level (standard, premium, or ultimate). Enterprise users with eFlex or Term Multi-Flex licenses are authorized to use any of the workflows.
When you install a suite, its workflows are installed by default. If you do not want to install them, deselect the workflows checkbox in the installer. If you have an Enterprise license, you can download a stand-alone installer that installs any of the available workflows.
