Work with Equipment

Use the Dalton Project Manager to set up your equipment.

Note: if the Dalton Project Manager is not available, click User Interface panel Project Manager to display it.

To set up a pump

1. In the Dalton Project Manager, expand the Elements category, and then navigate to the Pumps section.
2. Find the node corresponding to the pump that you want to set up, and then expand it.
3. Select a type of pump from the Equipment Item list.
4. Click Curve to review the pump curve data points
   Note: By default, the four pump curve data points are supplied by the pump manufacture, but you can enter your own data points.

To set up a valve

1. In the Dalton Project Manager, expand the Elements category, and then navigate to the Valves section.
2. Find the node corresponding to the valve that you want to set up, and then expand it.
3. Under Performance Data, enter a K Factor for your valve.
   Note: The K Factor value is used to specify if the valve is open, partially open, or closed. This value may vary depending on the diameter of the pipe.
