Boundary Conditions

You must specify boundary conditions for at least one inlet and one outlet.

Access
  1. In the Browser, navigate to the Boundary Nodes section.
  2. Expand a boundary node and click any of the properties below to update them.
Note: Alternatively, select the boundary node and then click Properties.

Boundary Node Name

A boundary node is a node that is connected to one element.

You can change the Name of the selected boundary node.

Type

In a circuit, there are two types of boundary nodes: inlets and outlets. To run the simulation, the circuit must contain at least one inlet and one outlet.

Specify if the selected node is an Inlet or an Outlet.

Constraint / Value

Pressure, velocity, mass flow rate and Reynolds number are typical boundary conditions.

When solving pipe networks, at least one boundary condition in the network needs to be a pressure boundary condition.

Select a constraint and enter its value for the selected node.

Fluid

The fluid density may vary in response to changes in the fluid temperature and pressure.

You can use the default fluid temperature, or specify a temperature.
