About the Model Viewer

The Model Viewer tab on the Design Explorer lists all the feature classes in the industry model in your design drawing (Model Mode). You can toggle the display to list only the feature classes used in your design (Design Mode).

Most feature classes have so many unique models that they cannot all be displayed easily. The Model Viewer provides a way to sort models into groups based on common attribute values such as Phase or kVA.

There are two ways to create new features from the Model Viewer:

• Create a new design feature of a particular feature class.
• Convert an existing nondesign object or feature into a design feature of a particular feature class.

In Design mode, you can:

• Zoom to the extents of a selected feature class or model group.
• Select all features in a selected feature class or model group.
• View the style assigned to a feature class. You cannot edit the style.

The Base Maps section of the Model Viewer lists the attached drawings, connected data, and surfaces used as base map information in your design. You can show and hide this information in your design.
