Edit Lifecycle State Security for Files Associated with Items (Vault 2015 R2 Only)

Apply an item's security to its associated files, customize the security for associated item files, or clear security overrides on associated files.

Note: This feature is available only in Vault 2015 R2.

By default, no security is enabled on associated files of items.

1. In the Lifecycle Definition dialog box, select the state from the Lifecycle States list.
2. Select the Security tab.
3. Select the Security for associated files of items check box to enable security on associated files.
4. Click Configure.
5. On the Security for Associated Files of Items dialog, select one of the following actions from the drop-down:
   • Apply item security to associated files

     When selected, the Access Control List settings for the item for this state are also applied to the associated file.

   • Apply custom security to associated files

     When selected, administrators can set an Access Control List that is different from the one applied to the item for that state.

   • Clear security override from associated files

     When selected, if there is a current override Access Control List on the associated file, the security override is removed when the item enters this state.

   • If you selected Apply custom security to associated files, add or remove members and roles, and configure permissions.
   • Click OK to save your changes and return to editing state security.
