Edit Lifecycle State Security

Control which members and groups can read, modify, or delete an object assigned to a state from the Security tab of the Lifecycle Definition dialog box.

Note: This feature is available in Autodesk Vault Workgroup and Professional.

Using State-Based Security

There are three ways to define the security of an object. They are role-based security, object-based security, and state-based security. If an object has no security defined, then security is determined by role. State-based security overrides object-based security. If the object has no security, then the permissions are defined by role.

Define State-Based Security

Access Security for a Lifecycle State

  1. Click Tools  Administration Vault Settings.
  2. In the Vault Settings dialog box click the Behaviors tab  Lifecycles.
  3. In the Lifecycle Definition dialog box, select the name of the life cycle definition and click Edit. The selected definition name appears in the title bar.
  4. Select the state for which you want to define security.
  5. Select the Security tab to display the current security settings for that state.
