After you select a connection on the list and then click Properties, the Connection properties dialog displays.
Use the dialog to define the connection type (plates or angles) and to determine the number of connectors (1 bolt or 2 bolts). You can define the profile type and the material of which the connection will be made. Profiles available on the selection list are those defined in the Profile List dialog. To add a profile to the list, click
. The Profile list dialog displays, where you can select a profile.
The contents of the dialog differ depending on the connection type and on the method used to define the connection (by selection of a structure bar or a level).
Available connection types:
- Splice connection by means of plates that are defined by selecting a structure profile - for this type of connection, the software will automatically generate the connectors based on the thickness of plates comprised in the connection. It is possible to generate a rib (welded to a structure element) over the entire profile height or at the specified height.
- Splice connection by means of plates that are defined through the relative level - for this type of connection, it is possible to generate connectors for the plate welded to the ladder. The length of the connectors is determined based on the sum of thicknesses of plates comprised in the connection, so you should select the thickness of the plate not included in the ladder object.
- Fixing by means of angles - the same rules apply here as for the splice connection.
- Fixing by means of the base plate (fixing to the lower floor level) - the connector length is determined based on the sum of thicknesses of plates comprised in the connection. You can also select to generate an additional plate that is used to fix the ladder to grates (thickness of this plate is considered in definition of the connector length).
