On the Grate tab of the Spreading of grates dialog, define grate parameters.
Define the grate:
- Name
- Material
- Family
- Unit weight
- Grate thickness
Families available on the selection list are those defined in the Family Manager dialog. To add a family to the list, click 
. The Family manager dialog displays, where you can select a family.
Under Load carrying direction, define the main direction of steel grates can be defined:
- Parallel to the user-define spreading direction
- Perpendicular to the user-defined spreading direction
For Minimum length of grate side, define the minimum length of a side of a non-standard steel grate used in the grate spreading. If the non-standard grates in a region have one side less than the length defined, a grate is not generated. For example, if:
- the minimum side length equals 45 mm, any grate with at least one side equal to or greater than 45 mm will be generated in a model.
- the minimum side length equals 0 mm, there are no size limitations while generating grates.
